Only the most elite participants (or robots) can over deliver in weeks like this past. Everyone else can dry your eyes because a lot of you were in the same average boat and will live on to compete against the same average people. Nah… it really is way too early in the season to panic…
… unless you’re Favre and wondering why exactly you came back from the Shady Acres retirement community. Minnesota = done. Favre should stick with his YMCA rec. league next year (at best). In addition, the Cowboys certainly don’t disappoint. I’m pretty sure anyone in this pool is qualified for a max contract from Jerry Jones for a coaching position; including the ladies but only if you’re interested in coaching cheerleading. Don’t be offended… I’d probably take that job. However, many of you will roll the dice and put high points on both the Vikings and Cowboys this weekend… again… which is good because every winner needs a loser. But the million dollar questions is… will you be so bold as to pick against the 2-0 Bucs this week?!?!
Our good friend Chris Gunn, who sailed across the Atlantic with nothing but fresh water and a bag of limes, posted this weeks high score of 125! I have a feeling this is a fluke because the English don’t know anything about real football. Regardless, congrats and cheerio ol’ chap!
We don’t make fun of people who forget to submit picks… we just take their money and smile. Having said, this week’s biggest loser has had a rough start. Kevin Hourigan is pretty competitive in life… but not so much in this pool. He was close to the bottom last week and struck oil with his incredible 53 this time! My dumb Jerry Jones’ comment does not apply to him. Stop the leak before it’s too late Kevin!!
The new pick sheet is posted. Don’t forget to submit before the first game starts on Sunday. David Huey must be feeling pretty nervous in 3rd… I have a feeling another Huey will bump him out of the top 3 by next Tuesday. Good luck everyone!
No comments at all on the Week 2 Results? I guess everyone must be stunned that an Englishman can post the high score in a league amongst Americans! If I never max out again this season, I’ll always bask in the glory of my Week 2 success. All comments most welcome my good league competitors!
crickets.
Well, congratulations for the fine pickingso far but must say it is depressing for one in the basement to spend quality time, reading forecasts and listening to blathering sports DJs only to fare as poorly as I have so far this season. The comments will flow if and when RH gets into the lead…..
RH will take the lead in something eventually… it just may not be football related. I can tell you with certainty that it won’t be the pool this week. I might just stick to ‘Connect 4’… I’m pretty talented at that game.
RH – try picking your nose.
I’m good at that. I refer to that exercise as scratching my brain.
